Fences - Direct Folders Pro conflict

I use Direct Folders Pro which actives using a double click to open space on the desktop, like Fences (unless you use the Esc key). The problem is (which I think is a bug) even if I unselect the "Hide / show desktop icons when desktop is double clicked" option, the Fences show up when I double click on the desktop. The double clicking doesn't hide them which is correct, but shouldn't they also stay hidden with this option unchecked?
What I would like to see is more options on how you show and hide the Fences... I know this has been requested before, but I wasn't sure if you were a where if the bug...
