It's done!!!!
The greatest wall/WB/Screensaver/Logon the world has ever seen is finished!!!
Now, I MUST upload it immediately so all can gasp in wonderment.....
But...
Before you do....have a quick look inside that archive/zip/wba/bootskin/whatever and ask yourself....."are all these files actually necessary?"
Often there will be some 'strays'....left over from a time long-forgotten....or your system had a brain-fart during archiving...and archived an archive....bootskinned a bootskin....or just plain included 'junk' that had no relevance.
Real issue arises when any of that 'junk' is leftovers of something belonging to someone else...and here's you uploading/re-distributing it.....
Ooops.
Often the junk is actually your own [pst files, etc] but its inclusion simply makes the upload/file bigger than is necessary.
Best to check first...and 'keep it clean'...

This topic came about because of a screensaver I made that had 'temp' files in it..

No, TG...this comes up periodically. It really isn't about an error you might have made...many have "done it" before you and many will after...despite this good Post.
Please don't think this is about you and only you...because it really isn't: Cheer up! I look forward to seeing your ss, even tho I don't use them...you can count on one download for sure!

Uhh.. YES Doc, it is because of what I posted above, this was what inspired the topic, as Jafo found temp images in a screensaver I made.. some images were from a previous screensaver is all.. I wouldn't have posted that comment Doc, if I didn't know what I was talking about!
it's no big deal, probably a good idea to check your temp folders.
LMAO @ the cheer up comment.. that's really funny!

Even if you *did* inspire the post, isn't it good info? Wouldn't you have liked to have it before you had your submission? Isn't it more about *all* the skinners and less about one?

Tailsgirl is correct...she inspired the post....but what also set it off was yet another inclusion of 'thumbs.db' in an XP Bootskin.
Bootskins can be quite tiny to download....but now and then some very odd stuff is included. On one particular time the included 'thumbs.db' was absolutely HUGE.....the bootskin with it was several meg.....yet without it the actual skin itself was 2 or 3 k ...

My favorite pet peeve is when the author includes a full size, 2 or 3 meg, preview pic in the Bootskin folder. End user has no need for this. An unneeded preview pic is not just found in Bootskins, have seen this in many other types of skins.

I was really hoping I was right. TG...I guess I was both right and wrong: Others have done the same thing, but you were right...it was "inspired" by you.
I hope you don't feel badly about this, because it really is a common problem.

Not at all Doc, I don't feel bad, my stupid Screensaver Software should auto-clear temp files, and not add them to the f'ng install file!
