Default fence
Monday, February 9, 2009 by Jouketje | Discussion: Fences
I love fences, but i have one small request. I usually download everything to my desktop, and now it doesn't get in a fence automatically. It would be cool if you could make one the 'Default fence', so everything automatically gets dumped into that one.
Thanks ![]()

Oh yeah that is a good idea then,
I wouldn't be moving all my widgets to find the new icon!
good idea!

if above does not work put download folder in my documents and make shortcut on desktop and put that in fences on its own.

Then I would see just a folder/shortcut to a folder and that would defeat the purpose.

One work around I've been using is to create empty fences in all the areas except where I want new icons to appear. This creates a sort of default fence in the negative space. Not great if your doing fancy layouts, but works fine for creating "Keep out" areas on the desktop if your fences are completely transparent.

But then they wouldn't be in a fence, right? ![]()
