ObjectDock
Start Menu and Taskbar Busy
Sunday, February 8, 2009 by aprochaska | Discussion: New Users
I'm new to ObjectDock. Running v1.90 build 536. Running XPsp2.
When I run ObjectDock, the Start Menu and TaskBar go busy. I can't select them. Start Menu doesn't even come up with Ctrl-Esc.
Other posts have talked about a patch for the system tray items (also fixed in OD+?), but this seems different. I don't think I want to give up my Start Menu to use OD. There are other less capable users on this computer (family PC), so it's important that they always have Start Menu as a fallback.
Any way to keep the Start Menu active?
Thanks for any help.

Not checked.
Task bar is still visible, just not selectable.

Hmmm. Do you have anything other programs running that could be affecting the Taskbar?
If you don't then I would suggest that you uninstall ObjectDock, run a clean up program like CCleaner and registry cleaner, reboot and then reinstall. Your system should not react that way just because of ObjectDock unless it is a bad download.
EDIT: Had another thought, you system could be just stopping for some reason also, does the problem clear up with a simple reboot? Or you could go into Task Manager, stop the explorer function and restart it. That's being suggested in another thread. https://forums.wincustomize.com/339171

Open up ObjectDock configuration. Under General properties make sure you are not hiding the Windows Taskbar.
