DesktopX
stopped working
Saturday, February 7, 2009 by HoustonRon | Discussion: Windows Vista
It was working for a while. I uninstalled/reinstalled.. still Windows says it stopped working (no reason given). I have Vista 64-bit system. Could that be a problem?

Perhaps opening a service ticket at Tech Support might be a good idea.

Here's the fix without deleting any profile:
Open Regedit under HKEY_CURRENT_USER
or the user that's affected
Find Software\stardock\desktopx and delete the entry in the key PreviousStartup
DO NOT DELETE THE KEY, just the value.
Start DesktopX and you're done
Does this help?

Richard, sorry it took me so long to answer.. up to my eyeballs in alligators. Your fix worked. Thank you very much.

I don´t think that your 64-bit is the reason. I have the same and it work´s just fine. You can try to uninstall, reboot and then run some cleaningprogram, such as Ccleaner, reboot again and then install. Hope it works for you.
