I'd suggest googling some orbish, glass images.. look at some natural lighting.. right now its pretty standard as far as reflections go, definately fade the reflection at some point.

If you have CS4 use the 3D menu sphere primitive to get 3 point lighting.

2of3 i think i found the answer mate..

you need to put some innner shadow up from the bottom of the orb to balance out the light at the top...

see here...

Hope this helps mate.....

Have I drawn the image too small so that it streaches badly when applied (238x317) or is there some magic setting combo that I haven't tried?

I'm a little late but gradients also stretch better if they are diagonal(or oval type radial, layered) vs pure vertical.

I like this, but I'm sure to run into problems with text color on such dark toolbars

Tim, you're doing great!

Oh, btw, I finally got your Zubaz rainy working!!!  [except no option to add event etc, or to remove that part other than the options in right clicking, is it meant to be like that?]

Yeah, it's a pretty basic Rainy.......I don't like "cluttering" up my skins with a lot of buttons. Just a personal preferance. Glad you got it working!
