Shawn, I am truly sorry to hear of your Mom's passing. I know she had diabetes, so do I and a few family members. We really appreciate your commitment to diabetes awareness. My Mom passed a year ago this Jan. 17th. She was my best friend. I have been called a mama's boy, I take it as a compliment. I know you and your Mom were close, I feel for you. I know , as you stated, she knew the Lord. So she's not dead, she just moved to a better nieghborhood. People tell me they are sorry for my loss, I say, "I didn't lose her, I know where she is." Thank you everyone for the kind words, support, prayers and condolences. The passing of a mother is hard on most people and I know many have been through it and in most cases just about everyone will at some point deal with it.
It was a quick passing as just back on Thanksgiving you would have never suspected the end was so near. We did know it wasn't long off however but we were thinking more in years not months. Many of you know now from the blog I started on my site, when she first entered into the hospital, that I took care of her over the last few years. This in some ways made her passing more difficult I believe then what otherwise might have been. I'm now in an empty apartment much larger then what I need surrounded by things to remind me of her. So the task at hand (along with the usual paperwork, funeral arrangements and so forth) is going through everything and preparing for a move. Her desire was for us not to be sad and I think overall I am handling things well. Stuff gets to me once in while (and at the most odd moments) but thats just the way its going to be I guess.
My plan is to be back in some close capacity to my former contributive self to the community. It might be awhile as much is uncertain at the moment. But, just your 'outcry' of support has been a blessing and I want you to know I love you people. Back a few years ago when I entered into the community I thought the comradery was fantastic. Everyone made me feel 'at home'. It was really great then and is now too. Thank you.
