how can i prevent the appearance of jerking when my vid clip finishes and starts again so its smoother?

you have to make the last frame the same as the 1st frame(well,not exactly the same).

what software are you using ?

yeah it needs to be a loop  frames go like this  1234543212345432 etc. <---hard with a real world vid.  The end must look like the beginning for it to loop seamlesly.

a simple trick is to duplicate your footage and then reverse the second clip to play backwards,so then the beginning is the same as the end if you follow me.

another way is to cut the 1st third of your clip and put it on a layer above your second part then fade the top clip up from 0 opacity to 100.

it really does depend on your footage though.
