Fences not showing in Impulse

Thursday, December 11, 2008 by JoDa | Discussion: Stardock Support General

Impulse updated itself, then crashed. I uploaded the full install, installed it, it now works but doesn't show Fences which I already have installed.

Thanks Zubaz, you are right, Fences is not among my registered products which is suprising since it was before the update. Maybe I did something wrong. How should I correct this?

JoDa, that's wierd, I do see it on your account. You've tried reloading Impulse once after it loaded & connected, I imagine? (E.g. it updated...let it connect & pull down new data, then restart it.)   It should definitely be showing for you, even regardless of being installed or not.

One random thing that probably won't help but would be helpful from a diagnostics step, head to "%allusersprofile%\Stardock\Impulse\data\public" and erase all the loose XML files in that folder. (you can leave the subfolders alone).

Thanks..

Is this the same as usingthe "reset data" inthe Impulse prefs?

Here's something interesting.  I got my registration # for Fences from Look up Serial #s. I went to load it in using the Add Registration and I couldn't find Fences under Desktop or any other category. Needless to say I couldn't get any further. Weird!!

Thanks you guys. Impulse just relogged in on its own (I'm assuming you did that) and Fences is now there.

JoDa: goodie

Zubaz, looking into it, no looks like that step isn't in the resetdata. Should add..

Hi there JMB, any ETA as to when Fences will be released to the public? I signed up for the Beta more than a month ago, but never got in.

I fixed an issue on your account. If you refresh Impulse you should now find fences under MyDesktop for you. As a Object Desktop Subscriber you would have always had access to this once the beta became live. Please let me know here or through support@stardock.com if you have further troubles.

Thanks a lot Seabass. Fences is showing now! And here I was wondering why everyone seemed to have access to fences...
