You can always buy yourself a Christmas Present but you still can not open it till Christmas. So wrap it up and put it under the tree.![]()

a interesting belive it or not tid bit to this post ..
I was driving to the hospital the other day to visit my wife ..
an open strech of highway when i looked up at the sky ..
and saw a wall i made awhile back - the colors of the sky
and clouds looked exactly like a wall i made that took a few
days to render ... when i thought to myself if i had a good camera
i could just take a pic and be done with it ...so that's what i did ..
....... got the camera the very next day ... the end ...

I'm picking up one of those for mrs starkers in around 7 hours from now... a FujiFilm with a few extras for AUD$250.00 OK, it's not a top of the range SLR, but they're around a grand and I ain't got that kind of spondula to throw at a camera. Nah, this FujiFilm one will do just nicely at 10meg and 12x... and I spun a deal to get a 1 gig memory card, 2 sets of rechargable batteries and a case thrown in... cos I do drive a hard bargain.

Also picking up from the same place a Samsung 81cm LCD TV w HD tuner and a 5.1 surround sound system for AUD$859.00... and a portable air-con unit for AUD$449.00 cos I can't stand the heat in my study when it gets up around 35c outside... in my study it's around 8 degrees hotter again, so it it a must before I'm just a puddle under my desk.

I love my fuji....even at 5 years old and only 3m-pix, it does the job. I am on the look out for a digi with interchangable lenses, for some awesone telephoto/macro shots....yes, I am a novice buff.

Oh man I'd love a D90 or D300 with a couple of lenses, filters, etc.. I'm going Buddhist so maybe I can get one
in my NEXT life.

I have a D-300, 12-24 f4, 35 f2, 55-200 VR, 18-135, 18-55 VR, 50 f1.8, all Nikon of course ![]()
Will be selling my D-70 + 18-70 soon, plus a few lenses... Take a look at my gallery, all the photos made into walls etc were taken on the D-70 ![]()

Ended up not getting the Fuji - 5 of the 8 they had sold were returned with flash issues and didn't want to risk it - so ended up with a Sony Cybershot 10.2 megapixels with a 12x zoom, 2 lens filters, 4gig memcard and spare battery for AUD$371 instead. Still not a SLR, but a decent camera just the same.
Also didn't end up with the Samsung TV, either.... the only one they had left was 'floor' stock and was not for sale, and I didn't want to wait until after Xmas for more to come in, so got a Hisense 81cm TV (with same 5.1 sound thrown in) for AUD$713.00 instead. I'd never heard of Hisense before, but apparently some hotel/motel chains use them exclusively and they're quite reliable, etc. Haven't had the time since we got it home to set it up properly, but I did manage to get a quick look at in operation and it seems like quite a decent unit... sure beats the old 76cm CRT clunker we were using before, tho that now goes into the dining room and the 51cm CRT from the dining room goes into the bedroom...
... and the 34cm from the bedroom, well I've always fancied being a rock star, so might do a Led Zepopelin with it and throw it out of a 12th storey window. ![]()
