Control panel link
Tuesday, November 4, 2008 by earthdog1 | Discussion: Docks
I have an icon in my dock for the control panel, but how do I link to it so it'll open the control panel?
I tried C:\control panel and that won't work..

As wierd as it may look to you, this is the best path to the Control Panel. It opens the fastest because it is not a shortcut. I use Vista 32 bit, but I am sure this will work for most versions of Windows. Make sure to include the two colons : :

open your start panel - left click and hold on 'control panel' - drag it up to the dock and place it in - change the icon to what you wanted
or right click your icon > dock entry properties
then open control panel - right click on the address bar - copy it and paste that into the 'link' box in the shorcut properties
