Invisible Fences?

Greetings All,
So, I eagerly installed Fences given the chance, as it seems pretty cool... But, I've got a bit of a problem, and it seems fairly unique.
My fences are invisible! I can move them, resize them, put icons in them and move them in groups... but I can't see them at all.
I am also running Windowblinds, WindowFX, ObjectDock, and RightClick at the same time... but I've tried disabling all of them and it doesn't make a difference... I've updated my video drivers, even tried a couple different versions... This is all on XP SP2, on a Lenovo T61 laptop.

No, sadly... The transparency and labels settings have no bearing on whether the fences appear or not. I've tried changing every setting that I can find.

I was going to ask if you had dual monitors but I see you are on a laptop...

I too have invisible fences - no setting or check block worked. Running XP SP3, Dell XPS710, Dual NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GTX 1024x768x60 hertz (only one Monitor). Only could see the slider. Deleted the frames and the icons were snapping to an invisible grid.
I uninstalled - and to your credit - after a reboot the icons were back in position.

Sounds like precisely what I ran into... (in reference to post above..)
For what it's worth, this laptop has an nVidia Quadro NVS 140M, and is running driver version 177.92, which I have found to be quite good drivers.
I've also tried Fences with versions 174.93, 175.70, 176.04, and 178.24, none of which made a difference.
This laptop is connected to a docking station with which I utilize a dual-display setup when I am at the office, but I have not tested Fences under that configuration at all, so I wouldn't expect it to make a difference.

do you have a solid-color background? if so, does setting a wallpaper fix the problem?

I do indeed have a solid-color background... this sounds promising... I'm going to go reinstall it now and try that. Will report back.

It worked!! Thanks! Very cool. And it seems very clear that Fences simply does not work when there is no desktop background image assigned, at least for my system. At any rate, everything seems to working great when i use a background. Thanks for the help!

Great - thanks for the report! Thought I fixed the XP no-backgrond stuff, but looks like I didn't, thanks again. Hope you're gettin good use from fences

Please check your settings for fences.
Is the Transparency tured full on?? also
check that the Show labels is NOT set to Never. Set it to always.
Please reply if this (fixed/did not fix) you problem please.
