Does anyone know how to use a folder of pictures as dynamic desktop background? i basically want to set it up so that it changes the desktop backround every couple of seconds to a new picture.

Assuming you mean the wallpaper, I use PowerPro (used to be called Stiletto) at work. It does just about anything many other utility programs can, is plug-in extensible, Creates Menus (with sub-menus), Hot keys, Macros, Button Bars, reminder/popup messages, virtual desktops, changes wallpaper and much, much more! (No, I am not the programmer)
Oh, and it's FREE!
It is somewhat complicated for some things but has an extensive help manual and an active News Group on Yahoo. (where the creator of the program chimes in now and then) I had to turn off the UAC in Vista to get everything working but no big loss there.
