SDC and Impulse

Sunday, October 26, 2008 by FlutePlayer | Discussion: Stardock Support General

Hello,

I have SDC installed.  Looks like Impulse will be the way to go......so my question is.........can I have BOTH SDC and Impulse installed on my computer and use them both.....or will they conflict with each other?  If I install Impulse should I uninstall SDC?   I've been very leary about trying Impulse.  The new Halloween skin animation of the skeleton does not work on my pc (XP) and I just read that the update for this was thru Impulse.  Thank you.

You can use both for now with no conflict, however SDC is being phased out and will not have all available updates on it.I (and many others) have been using Impulse since the early beta stages and have had little to no problems whatsoever.Personally,I prefer it over SDC hands down. The dock alone makes it worth installing.I also use  the ImpulseIRC often.Give it a try.

Wizard is quite right and you can have both installed. Stardock Central still provides updates to the Object Desktop series plus a few other skinning products as well. It also still provides the Wincustomize Browser where Impulse does not at this time.

All games will only go through Impulse and Impulse has a lot of great tools built in to make it a great asset. It is also a priority development project so there are frequent updates and new features coming out all the time. If you have any specific questions please let us know.
