Setting Target in DesktopX
How do I?
Saturday, October 18, 2008 by NewbieDeb | Discussion: Beginners
I have just loaded a DestopX and there are a few of the objects that work, and others that come up blank. I have determined that if I right click I get an option to 'Set Target'. I assumed it was like object dock and all I had to do is point to the program that I wanted it to run - but no such luck.
I want to click on the "internet' key that is on the DesktopX and have it bring up my firefox homepage. I set the target to my FF directory and the .exe file, but even then, nothing happens.
What am I doing wrong or is this something I am not able to change?

maybe when you change the target you forget to check the shorcut files box? in case of the target will not change

If it's one of mine, the Internet object either points to a folder, or opens the internet menu. If the latter is the case, just browse to FF and drag it over to the internet menu and drop it there. This will create a FF shortcut in the menu. You must be in builder mode to do this. Once you have all your shortcuts in each menu, save the theme and it saves your changes.
If it is the folder shortcut, and you have no such folder, then be sure you check the box that says file shortcut, then click browse to find the needed target. If you need more help, email me at [email protected].

when you click set target, are you choosing file shortcut and choosing firefox? or are you browsing to the firefox exe?
