This question has probably been answered before, but is there a way to get rid of the shortcut overlay on desktop icons?

If its XP see: Using TweakUI to change the shortcut arrow icon is more safer. Plus, it offers another special icon Light Arrow (icon within TweakUI.exe). This gives the user an extra option to set the shortcut arrows to Light Arrow style, without completely removing the arrow. Not sure if that works with Vista. Peter Jam, I have Vista so I went to the Web page you suggested. There I found this nifty little program called Vista Shortcut Manager from Frameworkx.com. It works great and is so simple to use. Thanks for the help.

My Pleasure.

I haven't gone to Vista yet, but plan on building a new puter w/Vista 64 when the economy gets right again.
