Sound Packager Problems

I recently installed Sound Packager via SDC. The install went very smoothly and I downloaded a package and applied it. The problem is that it wiped out all the sounds for Microsoft Money 2007. I tried using the Win XP control panel applet for sounds to add these back but even after hitting Apply they don't "stick". Why would these sounds be overwritten if they're not included in the package? More importantly, does anyone know how I can get them back?
I am thinking I might need to uninstall Sound Packager (sob) but I'm not positive that will get the sounds back either. Maybe after uninstalling doing a system restore would do the trick?
It would be quite cumbersome to edit ever sound package to include details for all the MS Money sounds or any other app specific sounds not already defined in the package. Is it possible to have Sound Packager only apply changes to Windows events and not touch app specific sounds?

Well, I actually used the the Restore Windows Sounds button on the welcome screen which I now see they both seem to do the same thing. Didn't work though. It sets the theme to "Windows Default" but the MS Money sounds are still MIA. I should clarify that, the sound files are still there, just not associated with the MS Money Events.

To make things even more interesting it seems that now there are entries in the registry (for sounds) specific to applications which I do not have. Not so nice.

You might be able to fix MS Money by repairing the install through Windows Add or Remove Programs. Or, if possible re-install it. About the only things I can immediately think of that could fix this for you.

In vista, Try control panel/sounds/Change system sounds/ Sound scheme:/ Windows default. This will rest all sounds back to the defaults, over riding the sound packager. Hopefully this will include the changed MS files that got edited.
I know you can reset the XP sounds the same way, but I dont remember the path once you get in to the control panel. It might be Control panel/sounds/ sound scheme/ default.
Also you can DL a package to Soundpackager and edit it to exclude any sounds you do not want changed, as long as they are showing within the SP package window.
As for adding reg entries for progs not installed: Im not sure on this one.

Unfortunately selecting the Windows default scheme does not affect the MS Money sounds. The default scheme only includes the basic Windows events.
After looking at this more it seems that because the package didn't include sound setting for MS Money they were changed to "no sound". A much better solution would be the ability to select/deselect from the app groups in the package to choose which get applied. That way one could exclude the "MS Money" (or any other app) group and yet still include, say, the Windows group but change some of the events to no sound.
This one has me quite puzzled as well. Clearly there are apps added that I do not have installed however. I can edit the registry to remove these without to much issue I believe but it's a pain to have to go through that.
I may also be able to simply create a .reg file to import my sound setting back into the registry for MS Money. Unfortunately that will have to be a chore for another day.

Did you try clicking on Restore Defaults(Packages Screen) in Sound Packager?
