Get rid of Trash Bin
Saturday, September 20, 2008 by mothergoose729 | Discussion: OS Customization
Ok, I have grown really fond of objectdock. I have my start bar hidden and have gone "icon less" by placing them all in directories or one of my objectdocks. I can't seem to get rid of the default desktop recycle bin icon, which is a major eyesore on an otherwise clean looking desktop. Who can I get rid of this icon? Would it be easier to alter windows, or to simply replace it with an invisible icon?

I just right click desktop > arrange icons by > uncheck 'show desktop icons' and they all disappear (including recycle bin)

Thanks for the responses. Bichur, when I tried your method my background disappeared. Bebi, is there a 32bit version of that program?

Thanks for the responses. I downloaded a 32bit version of UI tweak and it is now working well.

You can use TweakUI by Microsoft to hide the recycle bin on XP.
