Running disable in InstalledCodec doesn't stop Dreams from playing
Thursday, September 4, 2008 by Chirmaya | Discussion: DeskScapes
I am trying to see where my error comes from (Team Fortess 2 video intro while a Dream is running) so I am trying to use InstalledCodec to test. The problem is that even when I disable all of the codecs listed, all of the dreams still play. I know that I was installing multiple codecs and things in order to get the Dreams to work initially, so I am wondering if I have to somehow first stop the DeskScape process before the disabled codec takes effect, or if that maybe it is running on some codec that isn't getting listed in the program.
Any help would be great. For now I can just select a normal wallpaper before running Team Fortess 2, and all works fine, though it is kinda' annoying ![]()

Err, sorry, I meant the MPEG-2 Demultiplexer, along with the MPEG-2 Splitter.

Oh, it seems some things (upon hitting refresh) don't actually stay disabled, and Microsoft MPEG-2 Video Decoder is one of those things. Is there a way that I can get it to stay disabled?
