OD Plus crashing

Wednesday, August 20, 2008 by RPGFX | Discussion: Stardock Support General

This isn't so much a call for help as just a report.  Objectdock Plus version 1.90a build 538u has been crashing for me ALOT lately.  Two or three times a day.  It just pops up a window saying "Objectdock has encountered a problem and needs to close".  Then I click send error report, and open it again, and it works fine... until the next time it randomly closes.

Just wanted to make you guys aware of this.

We would need more information than that I'm afraid. What oporating system, any other programs playing at the same time, is it totally random or can you get it to occur when you do a certain something on your PC?

Windows XP home, with SP 3, Also running totally up to date versions of Windowblinds, Iconpackager, CursorFX, Rainlendar, Rainmeter Google Talk, AVG Antivirus and Speedfan.

Those are generally what I have running at all times.

It's totally random. I can't get it to do it by doing anything that I know of.

Go to start > run and then copy this into the command line:

%userprofile%\local settings\application data\stardock

It will open a file folder. Delete the ObjectDock one. Be sure to save your theme before doing all of this.

ok, I did all that. If it works, I won't be back to this post. If it still crashes again, then I'll let you know. Thanks Seabass!

Arg. Ok then please start up a ticket with us at [email protected]. Please list that you have tried the above already and list any thing else you have tried when you write in.

Also as a side note if you have some docklets installed try removing them one by one to see if there some kind of conflict generated by them. I only mean extra docklets that did not already come with the dock.
