Object Dock 2.0

Monday, August 4, 2008 by DorkCoffeez | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

As a large fan of Object Dock myself I was very happy to see some of the new work being done on Object Dock 2.0. I am very often asked what the plans are for updates and the like. I can now tell you that 2.0 is underway with certainty, I have seen it. The time line is not concrete including months for testing and developing a new UI but I do not think anyone will be disappointed. This isn't a teaser just a polite update on one of the top most questions asked me in these forums.

I can also say that I can't answer definitive questions about it yet because it will be one thing at time with this development. Just a fair warning.

Nice Zubish

Pizza?

That sounds like a necessity to me. I mean, c'mon...who doesn't love pizza with their OD?

I don't have any major details beyond the smarter, stronger, faster, million dollar riff answer yet. As details are given to me I will post them. You can be sure of that.

One very positive thing about Seabass I've made note of is that he spells correctly and has good grammatical construction. For those reasons alone Stardock needs to assign him to Zubaz.
Seabass, please post as things develop and you learn more. Like Mirsguy, OD really is a great application and I use it all the time.

Mirsguy is a great application?  On a side note, everytime I see "Mirsguy", I wonder if he's a fan of the Soviet space program.

I hope WinXP support and bug fixes will not be swept under the rug in favor of shiny.

Well, Seabass certainly knows how to make an almost meaningless statement

Still, given the apparant abandonment of several other parts of My Desktop, it is good to know that ObjectDock will get a serious update, although not anytime soon. I can wait a few months I guess.

And I do hope they'll focus on the right issues on this update. ObjectDock is a nice application IMHO, but it just lacks those finishing touches which would make it a great one.

In the last 3 years I have made just over 1k statements and had just over 24 million people read them. I am getting good at this. I am confused what you mean by our abandonment. What programs that we have laid to rest do you mourn?

Also there isn't anything in this world that couldn't be improved some, however while I am still obligated not to divulge information about the updates I can say that I am very excited about them. I think everyone will be pleased.

Not sure which ObjectDock you run or which Stardock you know of.

In my opinion, ObjectDock is a GREAT application, that can only get better now with this update. Carry on, Stardock!

Thanks for your updates, Seabass. I appreciate them, and understand in which nature they are given.
