is it NOT free?
What is "Add Registration"
Thursday, July 31, 2008 by isomerboy | Discussion: MyColors
I download and install MyColors. Free themes also (Think Green, etc)
But when I push the button 'apply', it request serial number.
Where Can I get SN? There is NO explain about it on the MyColors site.
Is it not free? or What I should do? Anyone tell me...

Well, actually the MyColors client is free. And it comes with two or three free themes, Think Green, Quest, and another whose name escapes me at the moment. When you click the "Add Registration" button, the MC client will prompt for a serial number for the new theme that you purchased (not one of the free themes). If you're getting this prompt when you hit the "Apply" button, you may be experiencing some kind of bug; maybe you should contact support@stardock.com.
EDIT: The Z beat me to it. I guess we'll see what he finds out. . . .

your info seems to be wrong, you may need to update or uninstall and reinstall your MyColors software. My Info is below:
MyColors Version: 2.50.234
Windows Vista (Ultimate), (Media Center Edition) Build: 6001 Service Pack 1
Wblind.dll 06/09/2008 11:59:22 511569
Wbsrv.dll 07/05/2008 16:07:52 210168
Thememgr.exe 07/17/2008 12:37:08 647376
Wbload.exe 08/13/2007 18:11:16 238256
Wbload.dll 04/28/2008 11:34:36 58792
Screen.exe 02/19/2008 16:04:02 161016
As to why your system inof is howing windows xp Pro and not Vista Ultimate, hmm, are you reunning a legal copy of Windows Vista Ultimate, or a (local Korea) hacked and modded supposed version of Vista Ultimate which is actually Windows Xp Pro with an Theme applied?
Im not implying just inquiring in order to try to help you out.

Jason, it's not listed as being for sale on the MyColors site under Designs or Fun, so I have to assume that means that it's still free. I guess one of our esteemed SD reps could clear this up . . .

I suspect that this is something official Stardock Support can help you with. The link to start up a ticket is about 3/4's down on this page under "Still Need Help": WWW Link
Include a link or web address to this post, and refer to your reply #13 particularly. Also tell them if you installed MyColors while logged in as the Administrative user that MyColors works with, or the Administrative user that doesn't.
user rights at the file level, that's all I'm going to say.

isomerboy do this for me and I may be able to help you out. But I need detailed information about your machine first.
Go to the run box and type this in it "sysinfo32" and press enter. This will bring up the sysytem information screen. At the top left click the file link and choose save. Save a copy of the system information to a file and then send it to me. Be sure you are logged in to the administrator acct..
Also may I ask have you modified any security settings in the computer management console?
Email this info and whatever else you may have for information about this problem too...

It will probably take a few emails back and forth, but if you just want the MyColors to run on your second Admin account I believe they can help you accomplish that.
In the meantime, enjoy Think Green on the logon you're using now, it IS nice isn't it?
