Media Player

Sunday, July 27, 2008 by Richard Mohler | Discussion: Windows Vista

Does anyone know how to fix media player from not closing (running) when closed button clicked? I mean media player closes but still runs in background, and the only way to close or stop is through task manager. The guy at dell says account is corrupted and making a new account should solve problem .. Is there another way than that because that can be a pain..Let me know, thanks..

Yea it does it to me too. It started right after I installed K-Lite Codec Pack. I always choose "Play with WMP" when I open a media file.

Well currently Microsoft has done nothing but I tried making a new account just for that.

It wasn't succesful so I stuck with using Task Manager and closing it.

But after a few days/weeks, the problem just disappeared.

Could be Microsoft, or it could be something I done.
