But I'm not really understanding.
Do I have to pay for Windowblinds or ObjectDesktop to get the skin and keep it?
Is there another tutorial that's simpler?
Like
1. Do this
2. Do this
3. Do this
etc.

ObjectDock itself isn't actually part of ObjectDesktop, neither is it a skinning app, but it's a wonderful desktop unclutterer [new term] and it can be skinned
CursorFX is a power skinning app for Windows ghastly set of cursors.
Both of them are safe and quite good
And as Bebi said, try out the trials, you'll like them a lot.

1:go here;WWW Link
2:download and install the 30 day trial of WindowBlinds.(will not work if you have used the trial previously)30 days, max.
3:double click on the skin file you unzipped. It will install automatically
4:open WB and select your skin.hit "Apply my changes"
5:enjoy your free trial.
If you like the program, buy it after the trial,it's more than worth it.

A lot of the programs have trials, but are time limited and will stop functioning after the trial period as ended. At which point you'd have to decide if you like the skinned desktop and would have to purchase the program, or go back to default XP/Vista.
