folders!

So I finally got everything squared away but I can't understand why I have to put right click skins over here and object dock over there and desktop in yet a different folder in a completely different place--why cant they use one spot and one folder with some sub-folders in it???? Also what do you do when yu get error codes when you try to run directX apps???
