Logon mod stuck in a loop!
Can't get past wonky logon screen.

I am really stuck and would greatly appreciate any help here. I'm typing this posting on a freind's computer because I can no longer get into my own machine after applying a corrupted logon screen.
SITUATION: I use the Stardock logons--fantastic work and amazing luck that am allowed to use them.
I usually use the Logon edit to make a few small modifications, usually just to get some of the colors to match up with everything else on the machine.
WHAT HAPPENED: After editing a logon screen, I clicked on "Save and Apply." Instead of getting the modified logon screen, I got a black monitor with little Windows dialog box telling me that said there was an error in Line 14. When I click on "OK" or close the dialog box, the screen blinks and gives me that same dialog box again.
So I cannot log on anymore because my logon screen is hung up.
WHAT I'VE TRIED: I figured I could get out of this by starting the computer in Safe Mode. But even in Safe Mode, I get that same little Windows dialog box. So I can't do anything there.
I tried telling Windows to start in the last-know successful configuration, but Windows thinks that the configuration with the corrupted logon screen was my last good configuration.
So I am REALLY stuck here.

[ctrl][alt][delete] twice should load an NT logon screen.
Logon to that and then choose a different logon.

I think hitting ctrl alt delete about 10 times will bring up the standard windows login.
Switch logons or fix what is wrong with that one.

Thanks... I hope i am wrong...But from what i read it sounds like he has corrupted dill BAD LUCK...

Wow. Who would have guessed that [Ctrl][Alt][Del] would get me to a working logon??
I'll try this tonight when I get home and let you know how it works.

I pushed them repeatedly, starting when I first powered up the computer. I tried all of the small variations. Fast. Slow. Steadily. I tried pushing the 3 keys all at once repeatedly. I tried pushing them sequentially and holding them down.
But I always wind up with that little Windows dialog box.
The box says, exactly:
Parser Message
Value creation
failed '' at line 14.
(It looks like there is half of a set of quotation marks in there between 'failed' and 'at.' That's exactly how the dialog box appears.)
Any more ideas???
Also, if I reinstall Windows, am I going to lose everything on the computer? I can't access anything, obviously, to move it off the computer. That word "Format" worries me--as in re-format your drive to prep for Windows??
This whole mess is looking grim.
I'll keep checking back here,

Just keep clicking ok on error messages, about 8 or 10 times will bring up classic logon.

This is a Bitmap_100 error, must be a true bitmap, not any other image, jpg gif etc will not work, or any other image just renamed to bitmap.

I was teasing Butch...no need to reformat...this error happens sometimes and Cavan is correct...when the error shows up...keep hitting enter enough times and a normal logon dialog will show up.
It was so long ago that this happened to me I thought ctrl alt delete at that point would bring it up...and it might...keep pushing buttons enough and the standard dialog should appear.

I will try that. And I am SO hoping it works.
But it's kind of funny to hear you guys talking about "keep hitting" this and "just keep clicking" that. Doesn't this--can we say?--*approach* remind you of the stone ages when you'd see somebody whacking a television set to get the picture to clear up??

Whacking my computer upside the head, so to speak, did the trick. And I am SO relieved.
Repeatedly pressing [Ctrl][Alt][Del] didn't work, at least I never got it to work for me.
What worked was Cavan1's suggestion to just keep hitting "OK" in the dialog box. What I got was a logon that I'd never seen before. It was in a window about the size of one of the common dialog boxes. I was asked for my password if I wanted to log on. It then took me to my desktop--and a blessed sight that was!
The first thing I did was get out the LogonStudio and replace my logon screen.
I really appreciate you guys taking the time to help me with this. I'm about pretty sure that it would have taken me half of forever to figure this out using any of the search boxes. And I don't think I could have held out that long before having to tell my older brother, who built my computer and loaded it up with software, that I'd, um, well, just screwed things up royally! And, really, I just did not want to even think about that, you know? So I am genuinely grateful for your help!
(And, while I'm rambling on and on here, I looked you guys up, and I have downloads from all of you. I'm kind of surprised. I didn't think you guys would have the time to be keeping an eye on the Help Forum. I'm impressed.)
