After restoring your Sound Packager themes - How to let Sound Packager Know?

I just had to reinstall Vista Home Premium.  Fortunately, I had all my important files backed up, and getting my computer going again was easy (and possibly beneficial).  However, while I have my old Sound Packager packages backed up (including many I made myself), and put them back in the same place they were before Vista died, I can't convince Sound Packager that those packages are in fact there.

Just to make things stranger, I cannot simply replace the packages using the already-existing sounds in the package and building them anew -- Sound Packager says I can't make a package of the same name as the old package, since Sound Packager tells me there is already a sound package of the same name!

Somehow, though Sound Packager is aware of the package, it can't actually display it or apply it.  So how do I get it to display in Sound Packager's window? 

I have uninstalled, rebooted, and reinstalled Sound Packager through SDC, but that didn't work.  The answer may lie in one of the operating files of Sound Packager, but I don't know which one; I tried them all before I uninstalled and reinstalled.  No effect.  I tried (through Advanced Options) to redirect Sound Packager to several alternate places I put the sound packages (as an experiment), this also had no effect.  There has to be some way to tell Sound Packager that the packages are available and usable, but I haven't found it yet.

I did try to email Stardock for support, but after 3 days, they still won't send me my password.  (I haven't emailed them for support in several years, and have no idea what email or password I used at that time.)

Check your documents to see if they are there (C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Documents\Stardock\SoundPackage)
Delete them if they are there. (You have them backed up, right?)
Then doubleclick on each of your backups . . they will (should) migrate to the right spot and self install.

Thank you, sir (or ma'am, whichever it is)! You put me on the right track. I did simplify your procedure somewhat -- I found the directory you told me in the backup, copied the sound packages, and pateted them directly into the proper place in Documents & Settings. I then just opened Sound Packager, and though it took a while, Sound Packager found and set the packages up itself. But I couldn't have even thought to try that without you. Thanks!

(By the way, I'm guessing that belongs in a Stardock FAQ for Sound Packager somewhere...could be quite useful to others.)
