Hyperdesk

by The Skins Factory

Sunday, April 13, 2008 by messiah1 | Discussion: Customization Software

So with Hyperdesk just around the corner, is this finally some competition for WindowBlinds?  How well will TSF and Stardock play together?  I know TSF used to contribute here, but they don't show up much anymore, at least with content.  I'm anxiously awaiting the release and can't wait to see DarkMatter.  Hurry up Jeff.

What are your thoughts?

*UPDATE:  Hyperdesk is live.  Go check it out and leave your constructive  comments about it here.  (Notice I didn't say "only leave your good comments or bash it".  Constructive comments can be positive or negative but should be supported with facts.)

Well, for me.. for all the hype.. certain parts of the Sony theme.. are... hideous... no two ways about it.

Have you loaded it?

I dont agree that they were hideous(except for the interiors)...that sounds like neowin talk...was the visual style great?...no,but it wasnt hideous either.

Was I not clear enough about the windows and interiors/controls?Yes...that part is terrible...thats not the WHOLE theme.

could someone tell me if I need to uninstall WB and IP? Once I install hyperdesk? If the answer is yes I'll stick with Stardock

Ok so the free skin isnt exactly the most aesthetic thing i have seen. But the other skins look pretty damn good if you ask me.
There seems to be some bad blood between the hyperdesk dudes and some people on here. But it shouldnt deter people from having a look and making their own conclusions.
Disney theme looks exactly how id imagine a disney theme to look like.

You don't need to uninstall anything. So far, HD plays ok with Stardock stuff. The switch back and forth for me has been uneventful. I didn't even have to unload WB. I haven't however tried to uninstall HD, don't know if there will be any issues after that.

They said it will come eventually... Hopefully, eventually wont be a year away. They should, considering Vista has been out for a good while already, have made it for Veeeesta.
I really wanted to try it ( I want wall-e!!!!

I still can't figure how the company that can't even figure out how to skin Vista got the Disney contract.

Well at least they finally posted a launch time they stuck to

I'd have to agree with Bebi the icons look great but I'm not willing to install HD to get them.

And from the ss' that Zubaz and vStyler posted those color schemes do look awful

But thats the free skin which looks rather bland and rushed.
Have ya seen the paid ones? I want em!!
Id definitely install HD so i could get my filthy hands on those skins. BUUUUUT.... not vista compatible... BASTIDS!!
Good to hear it works well with WB installed too.

I paid for one of the Dark Matter themes and it's really quite good! The window style is nice, with several variations for the theme that I purchased. The icons are beautiful, as is the widget that controls WMP (or itunes if you prefer). The site is set up nicely, really quite nice. The support forums are also set up nicely. No complaints from this consumer.

How many icons does it include? Please tell me its more than the bare minimum as a lot of tsf sets only have a limited number of icons which always bugs me.

Here is my attempted screenshot. Please note that I think it's much better looking on the monitor then in the screenshot. There are many skinned items that just won't show in one or two screenshots.
