So with Hyperdesk just around the corner, is this finally some competition for WindowBlinds? How well will TSF and Stardock play together? I know TSF used to contribute here, but they don't show up much anymore, at least with content. I'm anxiously awaiting the release and can't wait to see DarkMatter. Hurry up Jeff. 
What are your thoughts?

Skinning's 'engine' has moved on over the years. Anyone who skinned for pre '1' Windowblinds has seen the development/improvement/s that people now enjuy with the skinning of WB '6'.
The same applies for/with Winamp...from the days when Fli7e found it could be skinned [last millenium - always sounds good like that] to the current vers...enhanced by the kJofol coder [name escapes me] back around WA3 there's a very real difference in "what can be done".
The same applies with WB vs a uxtheme.dll patch.
Sure it takes [maybe more] skill to create a 'wow-factor' skin within old tech, but the reality is going to be that more success will be had wow-ing the public with new tech's capabilities.
TSF's team managed to successfully push WMP skinning to its artistic boundaries, and likely may just do similarly with theme patching the MS GUI, but it's not so much a case of gilding the lilly as gilding the dinosaur.
I find it hard to see how a tech that can and is frequently broken by updates to the OS it's intended to skin can be seen as 'stable'. Someone has a whole new definition of 'stable' previously unimagined...

Will it provide the end user with the experience they desire - both in terms of stability, ease of use and artistic content - and will they be willing to pay the price being asked?
Can you encrypt your offering? If you cannot protect it then for every suite you sell there will be a thousand plus freeloaders picking it up from the numerous pirate sites around net for free. Anticipated income will fold and the rest will fall like a pack of cards. MyColors themes are appearing all over the place so this is something you have to consider seriously.

Well, the fact that (6) people associated with Stardock has been a part of this conversation, has my interest piqued now. Actions speak volumes.

Hi Bill,
I certainly wish you guys luck. My skepticism isn't based on some sort of deep seated issue with The Skins Factory. My skepticism is based on a pretty considerable level of experience with the capabilities of uxtheme patching and its repricussions.
