Won't load on startup
Desktop X and RightClick
Wednesday, April 9, 2008 by Scrofulous1 | Discussion: Object Desktop
I purchased the new Object Desktop today. So far, I have been unable to get both RightClick and Desktop X to load on startup. Once they are manually loaded, they work fine. I am using Vista SP1, and when I look in TweakVista Startup options, the two programs are not there, despite having checked the autostart boxes. I have tried uninstalling/reinstalling, and have tried with User Account on and off. Any suggestions on how to get the programs to load on startup would be appreciated.
I tried dragging RightClick.exe to Startup on the Windows start menu and it "ran" all the individual items in the RightClick folder. The ini opened in notepad, the png opened in a graphics broweser etc so I won't be trying that again! Windows were popping up like popcorn.
Thanks.
PS - The new Impulse worked great; a real user-friendly environment.

Ichi: For rightclick, try running this file:

(Note: You will want to click this link from within Internet Explorer)
As for DesktopX, individual widgets can be set to autostart if you right click on them. You can alternatively just throw these into the Start Menu startup folder, as this is where they end up anyway when set to autostart.
