request/suggestion: assassins creed dream

Thursday, March 27, 2008 by nuclear_winter | Discussion: Animated Wallpapers

I've just played the new ubisoft game assassins creed and I was just amazed by the design of it.

So my suggestion for a really cool dream scene would be something like the loading screen of assassins creed: a blueish background with organic formulas and DNA helices floating around...

this video (bad quality..) gives some idea, but you have to play the game! :

Yeah, i dig what you're saying. I'm going to make dreams from all the popular games whenever i can and whenever i spot an in-game scenery thats worthy enough to end up on someones background. I play assassins creed as well, and my first thought was to make several dreams from it but unfortunately the game is made for a widescreen monitor, and i'm using a standard 19 inch, so i cannot record it in HD and that kinda throws the whole idea down the drain for me

I know it is already a looooong time ago since there was some live here in this thread, but as I could not find anything newer and I don't want to create a new thread for an old request her we go:

I was eagerly trying to capture the loading screen (AC:Brotherhood) and to convert it into a dream, but my resolution seems to be somewhat to high (running a triplescreen eyefinity with 5040*1050).

Therfor I'd like to know if somebody os having an idea or is eventually willing to try to create a dream in this setting. Problem for me is, I can not make a screen capture in lower resolution as it looks horrible when streched to fit all monitors afterwards.

Thanks in advance for any input or help

@Maxemoeller

 So are you asking for a dream to be 5040x1050?  And the loading screen you are talking about is where he is walking in the blue fog right? I just got the game last week and Can try to make this. There is no way I can record to the dimensions you are asking.  Would a video recorded in 1920x1080 stretch nicely or would it lower the quality too much? Do you want Ezio walking, running, standing still? Facing left, right, facing the camera or away from it?

 If the 1920x1080 will stretch without losing much quality I can try to do this dream.

I am extremely sorry for the long time not answering. I completely lost focus on this as there was no answer after some weeks and did not receive any notification either. I just stumbled upon this old thread anew...

The problem is like already mentioned that the dreammaker seems unable to handle the captured sequences but when I use a worse resolution it looks silly when stretched. I already tried to stretch some 1080p dreams to the triple screen resolution but unless these are very abstract forms it always looks extremely scrappy and wrong. Proportions are malformed etc.

The recording would not be the problem (even tho I would have to retake a video; deleted them in the meantime I think), but dreammaker can't handle it and I can't recode them either. Already tried XMediaRecode and AMD Video Converter (formerly ATI Stream Technology). Both are unable to convert the video. I already had the idea of playing in a calculated 48:9 sreen ratio in lower to mid resolution so that the video does not get to big but the AC engine seems limited to 16:9/ 16:10/ 4:3.
