Cursor Freezes

Hello,
Just recently my cursor has started freezing. I have Windows XP Home with SP2. I have Cursor FX Plus.....Object Dock Plus.....WindowBlinds (paid version) and Object Desktop on my pc. All these programs are up to date thru Stardock Central. My video drivers are up to date also.
It seems to freeze after I have turned on my pc within a 3 minute period. Usually it takes one reboot to fix the problem.....but this morning it took three reboots. Right now I am using the default cursor. This problem has only happened on occasions but this morning I had to reboot 3 times. Just thought I would ask for any help and suggestions to see what can be done to fix this. Thank you.

Nothing. Everything was working fine that night. Turned off the pc.....went to bed.....turn it on in the morning and that's when the cursor froze. Just got home from work a few hours ago and everything is working fine now. This happens every once in a while for me......but after one reboot everything would work fine. Try opening up CUrsorFX Plus, and reverting to the windows default cursor. This kills the CursorFX.exe process. Now use your pc for a while and see if the cursor still freezes. If so, not CFX. If the default cursor works okay and does not freeze, try using another cursor in CFX than the one that was freezing. Could be that specific cursor that is sucking up RAM and dying.
I put in a ticket about some mem leaks with CFX and some of the CFX cursors but I don't think anything was ever figured out. Also, make sure CXP is uninstalled if you're using CFX.

Okay, lets not forget something really simple here.
FlutePlayer do you have a wireless mouse? If so check your batteries. Also, if you are wireless, make sure nothing is obstructing you signal from the mouse to the wireless unit that plugs into the computer.
A hint, if your mouse has a tail, it isn't wireless. Don't laugh, the forums sent one nice lady trying to open her mouse to find the batteries, yes you guess it.

I did revert back to the default cursor this morning and it DID NOT freeze. I am now using Cursor FX Plus with a different cursor and everything is working fine (no....I am not crazy).
Yes, I do have CXP uninstalled. Did that before installing CFX Plus.

strangely enough , I have had a similar problem with cfx. I have found, if I plug something into my usb port,wait for the default sound that something's connected, then disconnect, and wait patiently, the cursor miraculously frees up. Dunno why, but I keep a usb device handy just in case. it's sometimes a pain in the arse, but keeps me from having to reboot. it's like something is hanging up in there, and the change of device, is like a slap in the face to the computer.
found this all out totally by happenstance. Had an external keyboard and when the cursor locked up, I plugged it in hoping to get the task manager up via ctr alt del ( this was prior to my buying the new keyboard for laptop.) when I plugged it in, I reallized it was going to get in my way so I unplugged it to move to a different port, that's when the mouse unfroze.
since then, I just do as I mentioned above whenever it freezes.

dunno if it's actually advice , was just relaying what I do when the same thing happens to me.
Hope it does work for you though. it's helped to calm my frustration on several occasions when I'd already filled in many fields and hadn't gotten to click enter yet, and didn't want to reboot.

I have a similar problem. My son gave me a Razor Lachesis mouse for Christmas and since I installed it I can not run either CurserFX or CurserXP. CurserFX was locking up and hesitating on me so I dumped it and went back to CurserXP. It did the same so I unistalled it also. Mouse now works like a dream. I'm unsure but it might have something to do with the high DPI on the mouse.
I like the mouse too much to give it up so, no cursers for me.
