How Often You Get 5 Stars On Your Submition ???
Curious to know who gets more 5 Stars ..............
and Curious to know who havnt got yet 5 Starz, like me ... 
But last time I got 4 and half ....... going very close ...

Never got over 4 1/2. But the highest rated skins are not always the most downloaded.
I got more than 12 000 DL on a 2 stars WB....
So I don't worry about that

...as a side note though, I had a worldwide
software company contact me a year ago wanting
to use 3 or 4 items of mine they saw here in
their '2008 version of their software , I agreed.
they ended up using about 15 items of my artwork,
none of which had more than 3 stars .....
just goes to show that people like it or not and
could care less how many stars it has !

Gotta agree with everyone here...although I often get 5 stars it doesn't really mean anything. I have some submissions that that have tons of downloads but not 5 stars...then I have some got 5 stars and not a lot of downloads. Skin for yourself...don't pay attention to the ratings. And not everyone rates...they just download. You might get about 5 or 10 people out of 5000 downloads that even bothered to rate. I like the comments myself...and if it weren't for the our regulars/skin/skinning addicts here I probably wouldn't even get those.

Me never, but it would be nice to have at least one 5 star rating..... I too agree with everyone that the rating doesn't mean anything, but as I say it would be nice.

The only person's personal taste that should matter is your own. If you become more concerned about making skins for 'what everyone will like' to get higher ratings, kinda takes takes the fun out of it.

Jafo gets to see the ratings - individually...and it's actually quite common that a skin gets a 10 [5 star], however, as SHOULD be the case that will only rarely remain the average as not everyone's taste and/or opinion is the same.
What you generally will end up with [assuming a fair number of ratings] is a representational 'average' that better matches overall community opinion...

I'm happy to get at least 3 stars on a skin, anything more than that and I'm excited.
The ratings however don't really affect the popularity of your skin, I'm sure there are lots of 2 or 3 star skins that get more attention (downloads) than 5 stars, it's all subjective. I pay more attention to the comments that are provided on my skins, the positive feedback I've rec'd has always been a great boost to me - I look forward to that more than the star rating.

I have to agree that the proof is really in the number of downloads. The only real rating I look at is the initial one because I want to know what the mods think of the work submitted. Comments are more important to me than ratings and I wish more folks would leave them so you know what folks like and dislike. "To thine own self be true" goes a long way but I personally would like to offer up what the public wants!

blah.... when I first started I wondered about the stars/ratings and all... I never really agreed to much with them anyway. After awhile you'll figure out, like many have said, they don't mean much.

You can find a lot of skins rated 2 1/2-3 stars with a ton of downloads and a lot of skins rated 4 1/2-5 stars with very few downloads. Think about it.

I skin for me. I upload to share. If someone downloads what I've done, fine. If they rate, better. If they leave a comment, best yet.
