Tuesday, February 19, 2008 by The_Sweeper | Discussion: New Users

Hi folks.
I'm a new user here at WinCustomize, i have downloaded a couple of dreamscenes, and now i'd like to create my own dream.
As i've said before im a new user, so i have absolutely no idea about how to make a dreamscene, if anyone could give me a link to a guide, or at least tell e what program to use id be very happy.

Thx.

This should help some: Tools of the Dream Trade

Not mentioned in the tutorial but necessary: time and practice.

I have made a very simple dream now, it just needs to be laid out so that people can download it

My dream has been rejected, it says: "You must have a full screen shot of the dream, don't worry about the thumbnail" (or something like that) but when i try to put a full screen shot into the dreammaker it says that the pic is to big, and that i must have a pic smaller than 256*256.
Please... what shall i do!!??

How big (dimensions) is the preview image you are using?  The system should create a preview and thumbnail from that.

To get a screen shot of the dream, open you original mpg or wmv file in a media player in full screen mode and hit print screen on your keyboard. Paste that image into a photo editor like paint or paintshop pro and trim it down to just the image of the mpg. That image needs to be fairly large, say 1024x768 or larger and save it as a jpg named preview. You will use that image as your preview when you upload your dream. Once you save you preview image, resize it down to 256x256 and save it as a jpg named thumbnail. That will be your thumbnail image for when you create you dream from the mpg or wmv.
I hope this explanation translates well since english is not your main language.
