Solar Empire desktop

Friday, February 15, 2008 by Elsius Saint | Discussion: WinCustomize Talk

Stardock MyColors has just released 'Solar Empire desktop" based on Galactic Civilizations II Suite previously released. Bryant nailed it again.

Let's hope people who have purchased all the softwares needed to run the suite will have a discount.

Check it out

I just find out it's not the usual $19.95

It's $9.95 USD instead.

Discount might still be applied

This is nice but why does it have to be a MyColors suite. I'm not too happy with MC right now it keeps telling me that all my serials are invalid. I have 4 themes I can't install. I sent a ticket and all they sent back were my serial numbers which I already have. No help there.

There should be an option to just download the a fileas a .zip with the theme in it. It's a shame I would buy this but I don't think I'll be buying any more MC themes.

MyColors are the wave of the future.
I'd expect they'll be core to Impulse.

The list on the MyColors page has a lot of themes coming. I'd probably buy between 80 and 90% of those themes but if I can't get the ones I have installed then I'm going to miss out on those themes.

Frekkin' hell, that's an amazing theme. Love the icons too. Way to go Stardock. MyColors is the future and you guys are going to rock the planet with stuff like this over the coming years.

Having problems manually extracting the theme from the .MyColors (I use x64 with wb 6.1) and the WB looks... odd...

I checked the images before extracting it for the 2nd time... the images actually look like they do in the preview (so it looks this way when applied). Whats the deal with this? I use x64 and I cannot install MyColors so I am effectly screwed.

Stupid me I went and bought this theme thinking it would work and again "Invalid serial number". So that makes all together a $50 donation to Stardock.   Do you guys have any stocks for sale?

Al. email [email protected] again. If you can get on IRC Monday morning try to get seabass to take a look.  If that fails, you can always get a refund.  SD doesn't want your money if you don't get what is due you.  (also, check the registration page to be sure you have the right key.  (https://forums.wincustomize.com/myaccount.aspx?reg)

Asty, You know there's an issue with MyColors and x64.  And by extracting the theme you are going outside the design of the system.  I'd expect the possibility of issues.

Thanks Zu I already sent back a reply with my last ticket and said it didn't work. Even the serial from my Reg page didn't work. That's why I'd rather dl a .zip file with the theme in it. I'd be dancing naked in the streets right now  Who cares about the neighbors?

Darken, the frame is due to it being a BMP frame using the Vista shadows, doesn't have a per pixel frame..

Ah okay, I'm disappointed to pay for a theme with this kind of limitations under Vista.

Hummm, >> >> Are you sure?

Darken, the skin does not have perpixel frames, but Vista shadows are not supposed to be enabled in it either, since they don't match the frame shape. I'm not sure why you have shadows in your screenshot. I also have no idea why half of your window frame doesn't show up. There's no reason why those progress bars shouldn't be skinned either. You should probably contact support about that one. Maybe you got a bad download?

As for the Vista ready bit... most, if not all possible Vista parts are skinned. So I think it's safe to call it Vista ready. Shadows and transparency don't make a Vista skin, skinning the dozens and dozens of new Vista skin sections does.
