Interesting problem...

Wednesday, February 13, 2008 by kona0197 | Discussion: Windows Vista

Take a look at this SS. It shows my Device Manager.

I cannot figure out why Vista is having a problem with this hardware. And I don't know how to fix it. Any suggestions?

Is it a SanDisk? What type and model?

Far from interesting.

I have no idea if it's a SanDisk. I have a card reader on the front of the machine but I don't know what model it is - it doesn't say.

Nice reply NT. NOT!

Try rebooting with the flash drive installed to see if Vista installs the native drivers necessary for the flash drive.

I have a 5in1 card reader that was pre-installed in my Vista rig.  It's some cheap and dirty thing with no identifying marks to see who hmade it.  Sometimes Vista sees it and sometimes it doesn't.  XP and Ubuntu NEVER see it though.   (

Could be the hardware.
