Newbie Question Regarding DWM

If desktopx is a "desktop manager", should I turn off Desktop Windows Manager that is run through the OS when running Desktopx?

I downloaded Stardock to make dreams, but I don't know where the program is. I already installed it but i cannot find it anywhere. HELP!!!!
