A Skinning Contest and Two Community Projects
Too bad nothing ever happens around here!

Just in case the members of the community have been wondering about what just goes on around here, I thought I might mention a few things that are happening and getting ready to happen.
Two community skinning projects are now in motion. I'm not sure that it was even given any thought that they started about the same time, but then it is for the community, right.
It would appear that it's going to be the Zubaz's ban of merry skinners putting their skills and talents up against Jafo's serious minded skinners who are looking to put together a HUGE Theme. (I wonder if some skinners are working on both projects? Hmmm, that could get interesting.)

I'm not sure that they have all the skinning help they need so if you have a mind to, go to the posts and volunteer your talents. 
Now if that wasn't enough activity to keep you busy, the 3rd WinCustomize Community Skinning Contest gets under way on Feb 15th. This little contest was put together by BX with some help of some sponsors (see, even if you can't skin one lick you can still sponsor stuff around here).

So you all better be working on some contest entries, did I mention there are some pretty nice prizes, go check them out in the link.

Now while all of this is going on skinners are downloading new skins daily to the Gallery Libraries. Just pretty darn amazing if you ask me. 
Does it stop there, no. The Stardock folks keep coming out with their updates and bug fixes. Oh, did I mention Stardocks Design Team has managed to offer up some free WB's also.
Yeah it's too bad nothing ever happens around this community. Makes you wonder what everyone is doing with all that spare time on their hands.

Just FOUR days until the start of the 3rd WinCuctomize Community Skinning Contest. I'm really wanting to see what the skinners here have ready to show us all.

"Contest will begin on February 15, 2008 (ET) through March 20, 2008 (ET)."
So based upon that it is now down to less then 2 days to the official start of the contest. Can't wait to see all the great entries to the contest.

Less then 10hrs and it will be Friday EST. I think I'm going to have to stay up and see who is the first one to upload an entry for the contest.

"Submit your work to WC Gallery
-You must write "3rd WC Community Skinning Contest" in the description of your submission."
So, in other words submit you work to the WC Gallery as you would normally with the words stating that it is an entry into the contest.

Good info.
Hopefully someone will take the time to keep us informed of the submissions as they come in. Perhaps a forum post with links to the skins?

Actually, if you think about it anyone uploading a skin during the time of the contest in any of the four categories would be rather silly not to enter the contest. What have they got to lose. They just might will a prize. DOH!

We've gone through a bunch of designs for walls and start menu and taskbar but think we have a design set. Some refinement and passing out of graphics and all teh artists should be going nuts.

Sure hope a lot of you talented folks enter the contest. It would be a real shame to have prizes left over.
