Skinners, Artists, Coders, and Testers Needed: Community Suite
Happy Birthday!!
Wednesday, February 6, 2008 by ZubaZ | Discussion: Community
After the success on the Troll Thumping Day Suite some members of the Mother Thumpers are coming together to create the "Happy Birthday Suit(e)".
I envision this suite centered around a DX gadget that counts down to your birthday. On your birthday the gadget will prompt you to download the most recent incarnation of the suite components so for your special day, your desktop will celebrate with you.
At this point we have some components assigned to artists but this is a collaborative project and welcome input and assistance from everyone. Please jump in and help out if you'd like.

I see Pugboy was doing the Vista Logon for this but he hasn't been logged on since 4/22.
Since he's MIA, I was going to do a couple from the wall in the graphics package..one with confetti added (like the Dream) and one without.
Is this ok or does someone else have the Vista Logons covered?

Found it easy to control where I threw it to burst balloons and apart from that was not much to say looked ok worked ok.

My thoughts:
- The mouse control seems jerky. That could be my drinking problem though.
- Instead of the instructions pointing to each feature (which does not line up for me) more text on a background might work better. What if we had a "greeting card/birthday card" with instructions on it?
- I really like the "dream" animated balloons (Desktop Mode)
- I would disable Desktop mode while in Stage game. The balloons just sit there. maybe switch to the desktop-style game?
- Would like to see the track of previous throws or the strength settings
- What does the lower set of *trees* do? It sort of indicates angle . . but not completely. I'd remove it if it isn't complete
- The monkey's tail seems to disconnect
- It would be cool if cupcakes could replace the stone
- Strength indicator could be party hats

I think the balloons should be in the same style (not necessarily the same size but the same balloon in different sizes and colors)
I did some balloons earlier on and you may use those if you think they are nice.

But no problem I am in a habbit of it, you know.
Nice. I will try it.
Ya stage mode gives you different configurations and you have to burst given ballons with given number of throws. Some stages like 2nd stage have flying ballons, too. You can swith to desktop mode anytime.
The leaves indicate the strength of previous throw, if there is any need to have it accurately in text then let me know I will do it.
The monkey's tail seems to disconnect
Actually the lower set and the tail's rotation isnt doing alright with latest version of Dx. Lower set indicate just vertical strength and tail indicates the angle. Here..
Link I discussed it. Hope we will get to the solution.
Strength indicator could be party hats
Does anybody has these images already or I've to make them? If images are there then please send 'em.
I'll post a newer version very soon with some improvements.

Nice advice I will do it.
There is a randomizing hue shift script in most of the ballons. Whenever they reach top of the screen there hueshift changes but some ballon images cant be recolored by hue shift. The smallest ballon images are recolorable with only hueshift. I have used Tim's and Jimbo's ballon images too but they cant be recolored with hueshift so Jimbo's ballons are always red and Tim's are always blue. If anyone has images which can be recolored with hueshift then I think we can use it on the object else I will try to make some similar recolorable ballons with different sizes.

Cool,Glad you like it!!
Do you have time to give a DX object a run through before I upload?

Looking at it the bottom appears to have space for two buttons. I know I clicked on them and wondered why nothing happened. If you are going to upload as is, you may frustrate users.
I didn't look, how many frames of animation are there?
