Skinners, Artists, Coders, and Testers Needed: Community Suite

Happy Birthday!!

After the success on the Troll Thumping Day Suite some members of the Mother Thumpers are coming together to create the "Happy Birthday Suit(e)".

I envision this suite centered around a DX gadget that counts down to your birthday. On your birthday the gadget will prompt you to download the most recent incarnation of the suite components so for your special day, your desktop will celebrate with you.

At this point we have some components assigned to artists but this is a collaborative project and welcome input and assistance from everyone. Please jump in and help out if you'd like.

I suck at animations...I suck at making Winky (wait, that came out wrong)..and I don't know how to apply it to the start window. I want my perspective cake!!!!

Both looks cool Po'. This one looks more usable(i think the baloons' threads can be a bit shorter). What you reckon about winky lying on the cake or may be licking it.

I don't know anything about skinning, but use Object Desktop an have for years. I would be glad to help if you need someone to test things out.

Cool. I wanna polish it up. If I'm gonna do the animation, may as well do the best I can. I wanna make him move a little. Swing his leg, blink, breath a little, and maybe look up at the balloons. I do my animations in Image Ready and I'm sure I'm doing them the hardest, longest way possible. lol.

I should have the taskbar/startmenu done by this weekend and make it available for testing as I start on the window frames.

Winkys should *never* lay or lick icing.  Never, ever, ever. 
Haptork, we spoke about a DX game to go along with the sutie.  What about a Winky thowing cake to break balloons?  (have you seen http://www.addictinggames.com/bloons.html)

As an aside . . ever notice that for a chameleon, Winky doesn't change color much.

Ya the game is really very nice, got to the 15th level till now.
Idea to make winky throw cake to burst ballons is cool. I will start to code it and when I will be done with the fundamental things, I will show it as a beta. Any other ideas are most welcome.

BTW Zu, I have submitted a lil media widget, its in mod.

Oh! I was just saying that the 27th level in the oroginal game is too tough.
I think there is a lot of time left to complete it, so dont worry the result is gonna be fantastic.

I suck at animations. I thought about those ideas and thought the easiest for me to try and do would be to have him have icing dripping off his tail.

I agree. I also like Winky sitting on the cake (I agree with going with a yellow cake.)

The animation you have can be slowed down a bit, but is fine.
