I don't think this thread was intended to be about the occasional spelling error or Zubism, nor about the slightly off grammar I and quite a few others use.
This was more about the "cool" people that write the "plz hlp me, got trble"-posts. I doubt that mrs starkers is one of them (not that I have ever noticed?).
It seems to be an universal law, that anyone who behaves in a lazy and inconsiderate way is considered "cool" and "tolerant", while everyone who points that bad behaviour out is "a nazi".
Now, have we decided yet whether Zubaz has to walk the plank or is getting dragged behind the ship?

I'm a writer and editor; therefore, I *am* a grammar Nazi.
...and tell me about it, Aufisch. There's a reason I don't play online games anymore.

Neither of my parents were teachers... but, very much against my wishes, they sent me to school anyway... to an English teacher who'd give one a good lambasting with the blackboard rubber should they make a spelling mistake/punctuation error.
She was a cruel little woman who looked much like Granny Clampett from The Beverley Hillbillies; thus she got the name, Granny Russell... and pasted us black n' blue with the blackboard ruler if she ever heard us. Oh well, she got the job done... the thought of a flying blackboard rubber, which all too often found its target, prompted one to think twice about spelling words incorrectly.
I guess old habits...er, fears die hard!! I still try to use correct English...'cepts when I be 'aarrghhin' and 'ye scurvy swabbin'.

Paragraphs, yes punctuation, oh boy and on and on...
It's funny when someone just asked for a little look at one's post before they post so that we all look like we have some education isn't such a bad thing, really!
Texting has become so ingrained in our society that we fail to use our skills that were taught to us regrading spelling. My neice just told me she has noticed she is starting to have a problem with her spelling because of texting.
Now if she has noticed, I believe we should all look at what we post. I really don't care about those who think they are so good that they think they feel it shows a lack of confidence in what they do in life. How sad for them. I want to at least think I try to make what you read as good as I can. Yes I will make mistakes, don't we all?
I was just hoping for a little better quality and thought put into the posts. Sorry it turned into a spelling and grammer test for me instead of us looking at what we do ourselves. I didn't know people really didn't care about it but thanks.
To all who responded thanks for all the crap you gave me, I deserved it. This place is one place I know my spelling will get me in trouble, my posts, my downloaded wallpapers, my photos, and everything else I do here will get slammed no matter what. I don't mind, I have plenty of other places to visit too. The internet is a vast place to go for everything I need and what I get from here nowdays is very little.
I used to visit everyday, now maybe once a month. I have lost my interest in this site and don't think I will renew anything anymore. How sad is that. I have been telling my friends about this site for a long time and even putting it on my websites, not anymore.
This may not make it to print but thats ok too. I am just waiting to get slammed for this one. I paid my membership, and I remain paid. I will download what I need and move on, without interest in what goes on here.
Do as you wish and have a good time. Enjoy whats here and take what you need and move on. Great site for what I want to make my computer look good but the walls are getting boring and I have found much better elsewhere. I like photography, and thats what I download and yes I fix the sizes myself with the programs I have installed on my computer so size doesn't matter, this is for you Stardock and Frogboy.
Who don't like my photos because I don't resize them and they say are personal, what about kids here and photos of peoples cars? Thats not personal? Whatever guys.
Thanks for the memories of what Wincustomize used to be. Fun.
Thanks for everything else though. bye

One last time...your 'photos' were not 'liked' because they were being submitted to the wrong place. For a photo to even be CLOSE to being suitable as a WALLPAPER it needs to have a recognized screen resolution and proportion.
It's not complicated. It never was complicated....![]()

And now it's back.
Wincustomize is what we, the community, make of it. It can be fun and serious, and sad, and hopeful. It can be all those things in the same thread.
Come, go, stay, leave . . . it's all good.
Wincustomize will be here with the same sense of community it's always had.
So long, and thanks for all the fish.
