How to remove desktopX object

Tuesday, January 8, 2008 by Michie7 | Discussion: New Users

Hi,
I'm totally new to downloading and using DesktopX objects. I recently downloaded an object and I cannot remove it from my desktop. I tried to delete it from the DesktopX menu and it's gone, however it remains on my desktop.

Thanks

Hmmm . . tough one from a users standpoint.
The problem is that the author made teh backgroun a Music player object even thou it doesn't do anything.

I switched to builder mode, removed the sctipt from the background and the DXplayer pluging and resaved.
Now it works as expected.

You might want to leave the author a note tha he/she could do the same.

Right click on the DX icon in the systray.
Switch to DX builder
Click on teh Object Navigator
Right click on the top item (the background) in the list displayed
Choose properties
Remove the script
Remove the Additional abilities
Close the properties box
Right click on the object and export

Switch back to Client mode
Right click and remove.

When he restarts DX, that object will reload.  And if he has other objects running . . they are removed too.

Bichur, that's allowed with credit text (no permission needed).  I've tagged the author to update the object.  Good catch
