Need help....

Several times over the past couple months I've had a problem with Windows/system/config/system disappearing,which causes me to have to re-intall windows,etc...I use Acronis True Image,so it takes less than an hour,but its still a pain....everythings working fine,shut the PC down and when I turn it back on SYSTEM is missing or corrupt again.My question is is there away to back the registry up to a seperate drive and if so how can that file be run from the windows repair console???? will take any help I can get,this is getting really annoying...

Not a possibility...Brand new hard drive...WD Caviar SE16 500GB Hard Drive...Smart Drive status check was fine,no error or failure codes were found...gotta be something else.

I try to download some of these free themes and the file format is unknown so they dont install, how do i fix this?

that usually indicates you don't have the needed software installed to run the format
go back to the gallery, there's a website link near the top to take you to get the software
