Bootskin help

I try to make my own bootskins, and use ones made by others, but I can't figure out why it looks like it's all pixely. It bothers me the way they look and would like some help optimizing my bootskin experience. Is there a way to increase the quality of the skin somehow? If so, what is it. Thanks.

the quality will depend on how well you get those colors to blend together
