Creating the bootskin

Sunday, December 30, 2007 by Teun0s | Discussion: BootSkin

Hey guys,

I just got into the world of skinning and I was really amazed by Bootskinning.
So I just began to make my own bootskin, made the 'wallpaper' and the progress bar (I guess) but then I am stuck. I searched for many tuts but they just don't work for me.

Pls could people who already made (some) bootskins, make my bootskin actually work.
Contact me when you are willing to do so.

PS: The progressbar should be in the middle under the text. Just as a regular loading screen

From downloading your pics, the problem is they are 16bit bitmaps, for booskin they must be 16 color which is a 4bit bitmap and the screen image and progress bar must have the same color palette.

Here is a good bootskin tutorial WWW Link

Be aware that bootskin does not always work on all Window instalations. It hasn't been in development in some time and always deserves a quick heads up.
