windows blinds program window

Sunday, December 16, 2007 by Browneyes70 | Discussion: WindowBlinds

Hi everyone
I am loving the program, working good, the only issue/problem I have is when I launch Windows Blinds from my Task bar, It seems that I can't see everything in the window. Does that make sense??

Everything is fine on the left, but as I am reading it continues on, and I can't see what is on the right.
it is like the window isn't big enough and the writing is too big for the page. So I am not able to click any buttons over there (if there is any)

I hope this makes sense?!! Is there a way to fix this problem so I can see "everything" on the page.
Thanks
~B

it's like the window width has been shortened.

WindowsFX can be used to limit the size of your windows - haven't tried it out, so not really sure what effect it would have on WB since WB isn't able to resize.

Try 1152x864

So that is what my WB config should look like

OK..I tried even changing the screen resolution settings, I put it at 1152x864 and nothing even changed on the WB config window at all. Actaully, it made it worse in a way.
It is like all other program windows will change like they should except the WB window.

I played with the fonts, and it didn't change it either, just everything else on my PC (like it should)

Bichur~ when you took your screen shot, is that what your WB config window truly looks like? I guess what I am asking is, when you open the program, is the screen that size on your desktop?

cause mine doesn't look like that at all, when I open WB config window, it takes up the whole screen. It doesn't look anything like yours does.

The way mine looks it makes me wanna resize the window but of course I can't. It's like everything is just too big for the window...weird..
But it works fine. I have had no issues.

I am just wondering though, when my trial version is done, and if I do decide to buy it, is the config window still gonna remain that way with the bought version??

I am a new trial user and also having the same problem on a Dell Inspiron 8600. You can see below that the desktop preview is not displayed properly. Since I cannot get the WB window to resize, I am missing information. Making the font smaller doesn't help (but it sure does make everything harder to see). I do not have this problem with any other program and do not use WindowsFX. I'm not sure I got the images posted correctly - please let me know. Can this be fixed?

Thanks, Scott

I wonder if we are all maybe overlooking the fact that possibly the trial has a bug, either by design or by oops.

In the Look & Feel/Visual Styles tab, just to the left of "Filter by Category" is a little icon. Click on that & see what happens just for grins. You should get a "tile view" of the skins; don't know if that will fix the sizing problem or not, but what the hey. You can double-click on the skin to apply it from that view.

I am thinking it is a bug as well with the trial version.

I am glad to see though that I am not alone, and that someone else's screen shot looks exactly as mine. (Go-Horns) on you one shot, that is exactly what mine looks like as well.

Like I have said, it all works and I am really liking the program and will seriously be purchasing it.

Hello,
Did anyone every find a solution to this problem of not being able to see everything in the configuration windows b/c the contents are too big for the window. I am having the same problem with the trial version of windows blinds. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi, I am also having the same problem - have tried unloading windowblinds, loading classic theme, change DPI settings, changed resolutions to no avail.

Anyone find a fix?

PS. I am not using the trial, purchased the full suite

chino_sti, did you use the trial before purchasing the full program? If so, the trial MUST be uninstalled prior to installing the full version. The procedure is .......uninstall trial > reboot > install Impulse > reboot > install full version > reboot (rebooting is important!)

If that's not the case try changing to a different skin and then rebooting.

If you still have problems I suggest uninstalling Windowblinds > reboot > install Impulse (if not already installed) > reboot > install Windowblinds

It's always frustrated me that WBConfig is neither sizable nor vertically scrollable. Fortunately, I don't have any sizing issues with the current WBConfig on my rigs.

I have had WindowBlinds beginning with WB 4. It was when I updated to 6 the same thing happened to me I cant get the whole configuration window on my screen. It started when I went from 5 to 6. I would hate to have to go back to 5 after purchasing 6

CDOB it looks like you have been around for awhile so you probably have tried changing screen resolution or your DPI. I think WB likes a 96 DPI.

There have been some other posts with the same problem and it was changing from 5 to 6 that brought it to light. If a search through the forums doesn't work I'm sure an email to [email protected] will get you a fix.

Philly thanks so much! I had done a lot of display resolution checking, but I have never had my screen resolution set at 96 DPI even with the other WB versions sure enough that was the problem thanks again
