Kind of hard to believe, but from all indications Microsoft is trying to be Santa Clause here. You do have to agree thought to a stipulation. Check it out the link and let us know if you would be willing to say yes. In case you all ready have Vista Ulitmate they are offering other software for free.

Dec. 31st. - That's what it said when I saw it too. I told some of my friends and now it's not up anymore. Even stranger is that I got a couple of site certificate warnings when I went back to the Microsoft site. Maybe this is just a glitch.

  34. How long does it take to receive the free product?

If you are a Windows Vista or Windows XP user and decided to join and participate in both programs when they were offered on our website, we will send you the free Microsoft product you chose when enrolling. Limit one gift per person. This offer is non-transferable, while supplies last, and is not redeemable for cash. Taxes, if any, are your sole responsibility. Note that you will receive your product only after we have confirmed that you have:

It maybe that more people responded then what they thought would. Say what you will, it's still an offer of free software, possible even a new OS for some folks.   

EDIT: Sounds like poor planning on Microsoft's part.
