Developer Desktop

Visual Studio developer environment

Saturday, November 10, 2007 by FSBarker | Discussion: OS Customization

This may be a little beyond the scope of this environment but has anybody heard of a customization for windows that would create an integrated desktop that you could assign windows to various applications and have them always appear in that window. I do software development for desktop and web using visual studio. It has an integrated environment until you run your application (or debug) then it either starts up IE seperately or your desktop application. I would like to see kind of a total desktop set of windows that you could assign applications to appear in. You can see this type of environment on the computers on Stargate Atlantis for example. I realize these are just fake screens but it gave me the cool idea. It would work really well since I have a 30 inch monitor. Anyways, just an idea. sorry for the big paragraph, but the editor won't let me use the enter key.

Stardocks Virtual desktop allows you to assign apps to specific windows.
I've had too many beers on an empty stomach to know if I'm grokking what you mean . . but it's a discussion, right?  You can tell me I'm wrong.

I don't know of a way to have apps run in a virtual window-space.
