Richard: Were there any widgets in particular you were running that were giving you a problem?
Could you also post your WB Sys Info here?

I was running Hyalo weather widget when I noticed that it was no longer showing one day, but registered as running. I went into create desktop and went into the list to see if the coordinates were off (out of my resolution range) and do you think I could determine what the heck to move (which coordinates to change)??? I tried a couple other weather widgets and in compact mode they all showed until I went to 'detailed' or expanded view then voila!, they disappeared too!! A new trouble has also arisen, the weather widgets keep having a error pop up that my location (which was fine before) isn't a valid zip code and whatever I put in doesn't work, it just says the same thing over and over - and all this while I can't even see the widget to begin with!! I have tried clearing out the widget and object cache, rebooting, all to no avail.
My ineptness to correct this has been very frustrating to say the least. Like all good things once I've had weather forecasts on my desktop it is hard losing them, but frankly isn't worth the trouble if they keep going 'phantom' on me... any help/suggestions would be appreciated!

I could run the widget without the Create Desktop running, but it was not visible, just running somewhere in the background, then when I started the Creat Desktop it showed 2 Hyalos running (and the one associated with the create desktop appeared again). Weird.

Thanks for providing the information.
The reasons I can imagine why objects/widgets/gadgets wouldn't be showing up are
- Coordinates off-screen (as Zubaz mentioned)
- Opacity set to a less-than-visible amount
- Visible attribute set to False
As the problem you've mentioned does seem to be affected whether WB is loaded, that sounds like a clear concern of some kind of incompatibility.
I have run DesktopX items here without a problem myself, however, and I'm using WB 6 on all of my machines.
One other thing to try -- hold down the CTRL key while launching a widget. Does that have any effect?
shortcut_: This sounds like it may be something associated with that particular widget. When you go into builder mode and bring up the object navigator (right click the system tray icon and choose List Objects), the values you will want to make sure are within your screen's resolution are under the X and Y columns. Just click on the number there and you can edit it. Press Enter when you're done.

True... when running them explicitly as widgets (by simply clicking on them) they wouldn't show. If you were to right click the system tray icon and choose the 'Import' option and instead load them this way, they would show up in the Object Navigator. This obviously can only provide information on objects. Sorry for not being clearer before!

As well, (and I'm not sure what happened here) but whenever I doubleclick on ANY weather widget now either out of Desktop creator or just by going to the widget folder it always gives the 'zip error..' window which reads 'This doesn't appear to be a valid postal code Please try again' and no matter what I type it just comes back with the same error - it won't accept anything (I've used places that worked before just fine). This is all very strange - while posting this the error just keeps popping up like it's on a timer ( I left the widget running).
Is there a way to COMPLETELY clear out the widget's cache and begin again?

I'm not sure what happened to start all this...I haven't recently installed anything or changed resolutions. I did go from 2 monitors to just one but the widget was working fine for about a week before it disappeared and all these problems started. I really appreciate the help and comments, and feel like a noob b/c I haven't been able to solve what I did or what has happened.
