Wallpaper too big

My monitor appears to be streching the wallpaper beyond the limits of the screen.

Ok...that's rather vague.

Why not open it in a graphics program and resize/crop it to fit your resolution?

...or right click on the desktop...display properties...desktop... then center, instead of stretch or tile...

In a graphics program it was a perfect fit,and I did center it.

center or tile will overlap past your resolution if the pic is bigger

though it may fit perfectly in a graphics program, it doesn't mean that which you see in the program is how it will look applied as a wall

what's your screen resolution?
what size is the wall?

Screen-1280 X 1024, Wall-1280 X 1024. I was careful about that.

Does your graphic card have any wallpaper settings that could be extending the desktop? Nvidia control center for example.

How do you apply the wall? Through WB? How?

No.7 - I patronize WinCustomize and use my file handler to un-zip them. Then there is a cataloguing program that can set them as wallpaper.
No.6 - I will try adjusting the monitor to see if that will reduce the size.
